(MAY 18) Retired U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Michael Cline is set to be
inducted with the inducted into the Carolinas Boxing Hall of Fame in Charlotte,
North Carolina, on April 22, 2022 among other elite inductees.
In 1976 Cline became an All-Marine boxer in 1976 and fought in various district
and regional matches throughout his time in the service. In 1988, he joined the

Cline won a bronze medal in the masters division of the Ringside National
Tournament in 2003.
Cline has not only been active in the ring but also outside the ring. He
continues to be involved in the local boxing community, coaching and mentoring
boxers on base. Cline said that following the disbandment of the All-Marine team
in 2012, he established the All-Marine Boxing Team Alumni Hall of Fame in 2016.
Currently he is the chairman of the team's alumni hall of fame.
Cline said that the alumni team is to bring people
together, create awareness about the history of the All-Marine Boxing team and
to promote the restoration of boxing as an All-Marine Corps Sport.
Cline has had many accomplishments throughout his career that includes being a
USA Boxing Olympic Style Coach Level IV, with 30 plus years of coaching; Coach
of the Year 1990 California Border Association; Head Coach for the Police
Activities League 2002 US Nationals; he was the first registered Armed Forces
Master Boxer; he was inducted into the the All Marine Boxing Team Hall of Fame
as a Boxer and Coach in 2016, and more!
When Cline was asked about his thoughts of being inducted this year in the CBHOF, he told the Globe, "It is a very prestigious honor, I am just thankful and I am humbled to have that opportunity."
