Skip was born in Wilson, North Carolina in 1952. He moved to NY when he was 19 years old where he took up the sport of boxing. After a brief boxing career, he started training others to box.
Skip is involved in all aspects of boxing. Not only does he take care of the day-to-day training, he manages young professional boxers and works as a cut man in the corner.
Skip is the “go-to guy” when promoters need an opponent or someone to fill in to make a show a success. He works every weeknight with anywhere from 10 to 15 boxers and is on the road almost every weekend taking boxers to a fight somewhere. Skip has worked fights as a cut man for HBO, ESPN, and SHOWTIME.
The great sport of Boxing could not survive without people like Skip Crumpler to keep it going.
